Used the Unscreen API?
The flow you built carries over: send a video or a link, wait for it, download the result.
- Unscreen's video_file and video_url become Poof's file and url, sent to api.poof.bg/v1/remove with the same kind of API-key header.
- Check progress on the job link you get back, then download result_url. Poof does not call a webhook, so check every few seconds; checks are free.
- Instead of the Pro Bundle ZIP, ask for a transparent WebM or MOV directly, or the mask on its own. MP4 on a background colour works as before.

Unscreen shutdown FAQ
Is Unscreen shut down?
Yes. Unscreen has shut down for good: new subscriptions stopped first, its Premiere Pro and After Effects plugins were removed, and unscreen.com now redirects elsewhere.
Can I still use the Unscreen API?
No. The Unscreen API was only available with an active Unscreen Pro subscription, and Unscreen has closed. Poof's video API works in a similar way (upload a video or a link, check its progress, download the result) and is available on every plan, including the free one.
Poof video API referenceWhat happened to my Unscreen files?
Unscreen deleted uploaded videos automatically 30 days after processing, and its FAQ said all user data would be deleted or anonymized once the service ended. Anything you did not download before the shutdown is gone, so you will need to process the original clips again.
Is there a free Unscreen alternative?

Can Poof make a transparent video I can use straight away?
Yes. Unscreen's transparent export was a ZIP with a colour video and a mask video that you had to combine yourself. Poof gives you a transparent WebM for websites or a transparent ProRes MOV for Premiere, Final Cut, After Effects and DaVinci Resolve, ready to use. You can also get an MP4 on a colour or green screen, or the mask on its own.
Can Poof make animated GIFs like Unscreen did?
Yes. Upload an animated GIF or a video and pick GIF as the output to get a looping, transparent GIF back, like Unscreen's GIF export. GIFs go up to 720p, have sharp edges and no sound; choose WebM or MOV when you need soft edges or audio.
